Season 2 continues the dysfunctional ISIS spy agency dynamics with more spy missions gone wrong and character-driven chaos. The season features Malory’s Ponzi scheme aftermath, selling ISIS to ODIN, and Archer dealing with fake chemotherapy drugs that send him on a rampage against Irish gangsters. Episodes include “Placebo Effect” where Archer discovers fake chemo drugs, “El Secuestro” featuring a mysterious stranger summoning Malory and agents to Monaco, and “Jeu Monégasque” where Monaco is basically one giant casino with Archer having $4 million in untraceable bearer bonds. The season maintains the show’s dark humor, baroque plotting, and the staff’s tendency to sabotage each other’s missions while their dangerous spy work takes a back seat to dysfunctional relationships.
