The Portuguese House (2025) – Spanish

Quiet university geography professor Fernando is utterly devastated when his wife abruptly disappears, leaving him without explanation or direction. Aimless and seeking a complete break from his past life in Barcelona, he travels to northern Portugal where, on a whim, he assumes the identity of another man, Manuel, and takes a job as a gardener at a picturesque estate. In this new, deceptive life, Fernando finds unexpected solace and forms a deep, unconventional friendship with the estate's owner, the elegant and enigmatic Amalia. His new existence is a deliberate form of self-imposed exile and rebirth, but as his attachment to Amalia and the quinta grows, Fernando's past inevitably surfaces, forcing him to confront the complex truth of his actions and decide if the new life he stole is the one he truly deserves.
