The Merchants of Joy (2025)

The movie is a satirical drama following Arthur Vance, the ultra-wealthy founder of a massive, ethically dubious corporation that specializes in selling curated, synthetic happiness from mood altering supplements to personalized virtual reality escapism. When Arthur experiences a catastrophic personal crisis that none of his products can fix, he is forced to embark on an uncomfortable, real-world quest for authentic joy. He teams up with Elara, a cynical, low-level employee who sees through his façade, leading him through the parts of society his corporation was designed to erase. Arthur must risk his fortune and reputation to discover if true happiness is something that can be bought or manufactured.
