Poetic Justice (1993)

After witnessing the murder of her first love, talented South Central Los Angeles poet Justice (Janet Jackson) withdraws from college and enters a deep depression, working as a hairdresser. To escape her grief, she reluctantly joins her friend, Iesha, on a road trip from Los Angeles to Oakland. The two women are paired with the men driving them, postal worker Lucky (Tupac Shakur) and his friend Chicago. Despite their immediate, intense dislike for each other, Justice and Lucky are forced into close quarters. Sharing their deepest fears, frustrations, and desires, their initial animosity slowly gives way to a fragile, profound connection, allowing them both to confront the trauma of their pasts and find healing.
