Best-selling New York City author Heather (Katherine McNamara) is struggling with crippling writer's block and the pressure of repaying a large advance for her overdue second book. Her life plan takes a sudden turn when she inherits a dilapidated family ranch in Montana. Intent on a quick sale, she heads west with her two best friends, but is immediately blindsided by the ranch's dismal condition and by Cliff (Dennis Andres), the charming cowboy veterinarian next door. Cliff’s grounded, small-town ideals challenge Heather's big-city priorities, forcing her to question everything she thought she wanted and potentially find love where she least expected it.
