Kubo and the Two Strings (2016)

Young Kubo lives a quiet life in a coastal village, captivating the locals with his magical gift for storytelling, which brings his origami creations to life using his three-stringed shamisen. When Kubo accidentally summons a vengeful spirit from his past, he is forced to flee and team up with the fiercely protective Monkey and the memory-addled beetle samurai, Beetle. Kubo embarks on a quest to find the legendary suit of armor worn by his fallen samurai father, facing mythical monsters and his powerful, malicious Aunts. He must uncover the truth about his family and master his shamisen to defeat the Moon King before he steals Kubo’s last remaining eye.
