The film is based on the true, harrowing case of Julieta (given the pseudonym Belén). The young woman is falsely accused of infanticide after suffering a miscarriage in a hospital in Tucumán, Argentina. Sentenced to eight years in prison, Julieta's only hope is the fearless human rights lawyer, Soledad Deza (Dolores Fonzi). Their battle against a corrupt, patriarchal legal system ignites a national women’s solidarity movement that transcends borders and demands justice.
