Born in London on October 23, 1986, Emilia Isobel Euphemia Rose Clarke grew up in Oxfordshire. Her father was a theatre sound engineer, and her first exposure to acting came at age three when she saw the musical Show Boat he was working on. She pursued her passion through private schooling and multiple drama school applications, eventually graduating from Drama Centre London in 2009 after a period of working various non-acting jobs.
